Kanazawa Memories

Dad's House Plan

This is a memory quilt honoring my dad, a civil engineer,  whose dream to build a home for his family was overtaken by life and  illness. This is not his design, but I believe it is close to what he wanted to build. Out of Mom's Workbasket

 After my Mom passed in 1998, I found the five 10 x 10 inch crocheted  squares.  Commercial machine embroidery in the borders,  the center star, the sewing machine, and the scotty dog.  I painted the flowers and birds after I quilted them.  Embellished with pearls along the binding, hot fix pearls throughout the quilt, and five handsewn pearls.
