Completed in 2011

The Storyteller
39" x 38"
Completed in 2013
Based on the look of antique Japanese screens. The storyteller sits beneath the machine embroidered then appliqued tree on a volcanic island. The phoenix and dragon conflict in front of the sun is the story she is telling, but she begins her story with the word "Betty" in Japanese Katagana alphabet.
Summer Melody
33" x 29"
Completed in 2016
This quilt represents a happy summer day in a slightly enchanted forest. It is entirely made using some form of applique. I applipieced the sky, grassy ground, mountains, and path together. All the trees, flowers and butterflies are stitched raw edge applique, and the birds and animals are embroidered on nylon veil and then appliqued onto the quilt.
